Illustration Commissions

Coldwell Designs can supply your every illustration need whether it is a bespoke Home or Venue Illustration, Wedding Stationery, or hand-painted Event Signage. Contact me for further info or follow the process below…

A bespoke illustration makes the perfect personalised gift or keepsake. My speciality is home & wedding venue illustrations which are all individually drawn and painted to provide an original piece of artwork. Additional prints of your illustration can be provided for an additional charge.

Commissions process

Home/Venue Illustrations (and other bespoke commissions follow the same process)

  1. Choose the size you want your painting. (A5/A4/A3/CUSTOM)
  2. Collate some good quality photos of the property, ideally with natural light, face on (and with no cars on the drive blocking the view if possible). It can also be quite handy to get some closer shots of more complex parts like the front door/porch etc. Quite often we will use google maps to check up on any angles and lighting, so we will need the address to search it. 2/3 photos are best and do let us know if there’s any you want us to particularly base it on.
  3. Once all photos have been received and all the details have been discussed incl any wording below your painting, we will issue a final quote for you (not incl P&P). A 50% non-refundable deposit will be due at this point to secure your booking. Please note that time frames can vary and at busy times during the year, projects may take longer to complete. Always best to plan ahead!
  4. We draft up your design in pencil first and send you a picture so you can give us a thumbs up to continue. (We like to do this so that you can ask for any tweaks/additions before the ink and paint touches the paper).
  5. We tend to keep in touch with updates anyway but, we will be in touch once your painting is finished and ready to be shipped.
  6. Remaining balance is collected plus the postage and packaging costs (note P&P is not included in your quote unless otherwise agreed, however we will give you a rough estimate at time of booking).
  7. Your lovely painting is packaged up carefully wrapped in a compostable protective sleeve and hardback envelope to keep it flat and sent on its way to you, so pop the kettle on and wait for the postie to come!
  8. Unwrap your order and take some lovely quick snaps to share!…. Please leave us a review of your order, it means more than anything to small businesses like mine!

Please note: As you can understand, we are not able to take returns/refunds once a deposit has been paid and/or you have received your painting. Please make sure prior to booking that you are happy with the style of my work and know this will be relayed in the outcome of your order.
